FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before starting your visit.
What is submission-based telecare?
Submission-based telecare means you describe your symptoms through a secure online intake form — no video call required. A Georgia-licensed physician reviews your submission and sends back a care plan, treatment recommendations, or referral instructions. Phone or video follow-up is only used when clinically necessary.
Do I need to do a video call?
No. East Metro Telecare is submission-based, meaning most visits are handled entirely through your written intake form. You won't need to schedule a video appointment or wait on hold. If your provider needs additional clarification, they may request a brief phone or video follow-up — but this is the exception, not the rule.
Are prescriptions guaranteed?
No. Prescriptions are never guaranteed. All treatment decisions — including whether a prescription is appropriate — are made solely by the reviewing physician based on clinical judgment. East Metro Telecare does not prescribe controlled substances under any circumstances.
What states do you serve?
East Metro Telecare currently serves residents of Georgia only. You must be physically located in Georgia at the time of your visit and must be 18 years of age or older to use our services.
What if I need in-person care?
Some conditions require hands-on evaluation, lab work, or imaging that cannot be assessed remotely. If your provider determines that in-person care is necessary, they will advise you accordingly and provide referral guidance. If your symptoms worsen at any point, seek in-person urgent care or emergency services immediately.
Is this an emergency service?
No. East Metro Telecare is not an emergency service and is not equipped to handle medical emergencies. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke symptoms, or any other life-threatening condition — call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
Who actually provides my medical care?
All medical care is provided by independent, licensed U.S. physicians through a contracted clinical partner network. East Metro Telecare is a non-clinical management and marketing organization — we do not practice medicine, provide medical advice, or interfere with provider clinical judgment in any way.
How much does a visit cost?
A standard visit is $69 — flat fee, no hidden charges, no insurance required. You pay once when you submit your intake form. There are no surprise bills after your provider review.
How long does it take to get a response?
Most submissions are reviewed same day. Response times may vary based on submission volume and time of day. You will receive your care plan or next steps directly through the platform.
